Inverness is home to Loch Ness Lake, a 22-mile lake famous for the legendary Loch Ness monster sightings. The first recorded sighting of the monster was by St. Columba 1,500 years ago. There are boat excursions on the lake, including a submarine, dubbed the Loch Ness Submarine, offering underwater tours. The Old Leanach Farmhouse, was once a tax collector's house and is now a tourist attraction for its interior displays.
